The Role
You will act as a senior technical escalation point for all networking, infrastructure, and security‑related issues. This is a hands‑on engineering role involving advanced troubleshooting, infrastructure ownership, architectural input, and participation in key IT projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex LAN/WAN/VPN network issues.
· Manage routing, switching, firewall technologies, VLANs, and secure network segmentation.
· Support, maintain, and enhance virtualization platforms (VMware).
· Administer Windows & Linux servers, storage, backups, and critical systems.
· Lead incident response and root‑cause analysis.
· Manage cloud and hybrid infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
· Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls.
· Produce documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards.
· Mentor junior technicians.
· Participate in out‑of‑hours and weekend support rota.
Essential Experience & Skills
· 5+ years’ experience in network and infrastructure engineering.
· Strong networking skills (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).
· Windows and Linux administration.
· Azure/AWS cloud experience.
· VMware experience.
· PowerShell/Python scripting beneficial.
· Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
